So, in the middle of my mad rush to meet my Goodreads Challenge deadline, getting snared viciously by The Game of Thrones and generally going about my daily life, two of my favourite weekly post categories have suffered – Weekly Wishlist and Top Ten Tuesday (you can catch my previous wishlist here and listicle here). And today, I am back with at least one of them – the Weekly Wishlist. So, without further ado, let me reveal the book that has swum up here – Bait: Off-Color Stories for You to Color by Chuck Palahniuk.
There are two reasons this book is on my wishlist. First is, I fell in love with the concept of this book (more about it in the next half of this post. Secondly, this book is yet to release – it’s launching in October this year. So, yes, I would have to pre-order this book if I was determined to add it to my book collection. However, to order a book, said book should be available in my country. Initial (frantic and much hurried) research revealed nothing. Nada. This is reason no.3. Now, since I know that it will be a looong time before I’m able to snag this book, here it is, on my wishlist.
Let me share with you a little bit of what I know about this book and why I fell in love with it. I came across this book when I was doing a Top Ten Tuesday post a few weeks ago about The Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of this Year. This is a coloring book for adult with stories that are, as the title promises, off-color. This will be a collection of short stories, illustrated by comic book artists like Duncan Fegredo and Lee Bermejo for readers who have nerves of steel. Because, of course, the stories are off-colour. They are not for the faint of heart. Not that I know that I am not one of the faint hearted. But while I’m wishing this book to my list, why not wish for fortitude too, right?
