Back to Reality: A Look Back on My Trip to Hyderabad

It’s been a few days since I blogged, thanks to a pleasant trip that we took over the weekend, Monday and Tuesday to Hyderabad, a South Indian city in the state of Telangana. Unlike my visit to Masinagudi, Mudumalai in the beginning of the month, which was with friends, this was a trip with family for a family function that was truly memorable.

While I was there, I was kind of kicking myself over the fact that I had not made a plan to put up posts over the days that I was travelling, and most importantly, not doing a post about the books that I was carrying with me (you can read about the one I did before the Jungle Retreat trip, here).

So, in retrospect, I’m writing this to quickly share with you about how the trip went and the books that travelled with me.

This time I had with me Anne of Green Gables and Little Women, of which I had started reading the first, and was hoping to not only finish it, but also make significant progress with the second one. However, the days were so packed that I barely made a dent in reading the first book!

Also, the few times that I actually got the chance to read, I slacked off, because all I wanted to do was sleep, because the heat in Hyderabad was just unbearably draining (the day we left, we were treated to cloudy skies and light showers). But what it made up with, was the food – good biryani and great Indian burgers. Both of which made me a happy camper.

All-in-all, the trip had some good food, and great company (of both books and people). What more can a girl ask for?

If you’d like to discover more about Hyderabad through the eyes of someone who spent a few years there and was revisiting it after a long break, do check out the Later Alligator Blog by my friend Prathima!
